Ritual & Lifecycle ! Births
As a young community we have welcomed many newborns at Brit or Simchat Bat ceremonies. We love to watch our young members
lead their first service and become part of the Jewish community. We are an
egalitarian congregation, so both boys and girls celebrate their Bnei
Mitzvah at the age of thirteen.
If you are considering a bar/batmitzvah at Kedem please read our Bnei Mitzvah handbook. To arrange the service for your son/daughter's upcoming bar/batmitzvah, download and fill in a Barmitzvah service list or Batmitzvah service list. Kedem has so far hosted only one
wedding, but many wedding call-ups. As we do not have a Rabbi you would need
to provide your own Rabbi to conduct the registered celebrant portion of the
services.
You name it and we will celebrate it. Weddings, Births, Bnei
Mitzvah, Engagements, significant Birthdays. Food, music and dancing form a
vital part of our celebration of Jewish life.
We refer all funeral requirements to the funeral service of
the Victorian Union of Progressive Judaism called
