Welcome

Kedem stands for Kehillat David HaMelech, the congregation of King David.

Kedem is a small lay-led congregation that shares Shabbat, festivals and social functions in a warm, inclusive and informal atmosphere.

Kedem meets on the first and third Shabbat mornings of each month, on the second Friday evening of each month and on all Festivals. We transform the Hall at The King David School's Kooyong Rd Campus into our Synagogue.

We are:

  • active and committed to Tikkun Olam (social justice)

  • have a strong sense of Jewish connection

  • a love of singing

  • a preference for Hebrew

  • a strong traditional base

  • a commitment to equality and progressive ideas with a strong focus on Israel

Additionally we pride ourselves on being family friendly and raising children who feel at home in shule and look on our community as an extended family.
