WELCOME TO KEDEM

KEDEM IS A JOYFUL JEWISH COMMUNITY

Our motto is Joyful Jewish Life and that is our aim – to create a vibrant community of people who come together celebrate, live, learn and have fun.

Kedem was established in 1995 by an enthusiastic group of Progressive Jews who wanted to create a lay lead, warm and creative community where all the members contributed to its functioning.
Today we are run through a combination of professional and volunteer assistance by members to create interesting and joyful Shabbat services, Chaggim, the B'nei Mitzvah program and social events. Rabbinical support is provided over the High Holydays.

We welcome people from diverse backgrounds, ages and lifestyles.

WHAT'S GREAT ABOUT KEDEM?
  • It's friendly and inclusive - a place where everyone knows your name
  • Activities are undertaken in a spirit of joy, music and with good food
  • Progressive Judaism means men and women sit together, women participate equally in all aspects of the services and members engage with questions about how to meaningfully apply Judaism in their lives
  • We pride ourselves on being family-friendly and our children look on our community as an extended family

VIBRANT, COMMUNITY-LEAD EXPERIENCES
We pray together in a warm, informal atmosphere. Services are layled – run by various members who ensure that services are interesting, educated and thought provoking, and provide a rich Jewish experience. We are committed to equality and progressive ideas.
