STUDY SESSIONS

We are committed to ongoing Jewish learning so that our members and friends can enhance their Jewish knowledge and understanding.

Study sessions occur in a variety of forms:
  • Guest speakers and panel events
  • 5th Shabbat events
  • Monthly Parashah/Haftarah discussions, held after Shabbat services
  • Monthly text study sessions, held in a private home
  • Book club discussions

Study sessions have been led by Kedem members, the Netzer Shaliach, invited Rabbis and knowledgeable guests.

    Topics have included:
  • What’s Perplexing Rambam?
  • How to Funk up your Seder
  • Josephus: Hero or Villain?
  • Judaism: An ever-adapting faith
  • We are dreamers: Israel at 70
  • Alone in the Desert. A Countdown of the current Israeli music hits!

Education sessions are held to teach members who would like to be involved in service leading or who would like to take on supporting roles, such as Gabbai and Shamas.  We “up-skill” members, encouraging them to take on roles they haven’t done before.

Tuition to learn to chant from the Torah is available for anyone - not just B’nei Mitzvah students. If you would like to take your place at the Bimah and chant Torah, we can make it happen!
